There are around 3500 plastic waste that we used to finalise this installation and it took four months from the idea, concept, waste collection to a final installation. This setup is a collaboration between DFS Bali Airport, Bali Airport authorities, Bye Bye Plastic Bags Youth Movement and the artists : Monez and Marmar.
BALINESE ILLUSTRATOR : MONEZ
MONEZ, a Balinese illustrator that gets his inspirations from Balinese fables and folk-tales. He has exhibited his digital and hand-drawn works from Asia to United States. Now, Monez is putting his idea cap on how to convey the idea and transform waste into an art installation.
BALINESE SCULPTOR : MARMAR
MARMAR, he is known as the go to person to build ogoh-ogoh, a giant Bali paper statue that is being paraded during Balinese lunar new year. Being the first ogoh-ogoh developer that is not using styrofoam in his creation, he happily shares his eco-friendly technique to villages around Bali. With his artistic skill, Marmar is now challenged to transform Monez illustration into a lively 3D art installation.
