Best Golf Courses in Bali
Fore! Watch out…We’re hitting the greens to road test the links of Bali. We think we’re better suited to some clubhouse action but we’ve discovered some mighty fine courses, so if you’re after a quick 9 holes or want to tee off with a view, then grab your caddy and follow us.
Nirwana Bali Golf Club
Designed by the inimitable Greg Norman, Nirwana Bali Golf Club will surely excite any golf enthusiast. Supposedly once of the most photographed courses in the world – could it be the supermodel of the golfing world? – it offers 18 holes with one of the most stunning backdrops you’ll ever find, with sweeping views from rugged clifftops over the Indian Ocean. It’s got driving ranges, golf carts, caddies, a club house… basically, anything your golfing heart desires.
Bali Beach Golf Course
Bali Beach Golf Course is located in the beachside town of Sanur and is great for a quick round of 9 holes. One of Bali’s older golf courses, it was founded in 1972, but has been given a facelift and there are now lakes and newly designed greens. Lots of lovely big, shady trees make this a very pleasant spot for a round or two.
Bali Handara Kosaido Country Club
Travel to the central highlands of Bali where you’ll find one of the world’s most unique golf courses. The Bali Handara Kosaido Country Club is nestled within the crater of an extinct volcano. But don’t expect a barren wasteland, this beautiful course is surrounded by green mountains and rainforest. Well worth the trip out of town.
Bali Golf and Country Club
Fortune Magazine, USA once voted this one of the 5 best golf courses in Asia and we’re not one to argue with the rich cats. Set amidst tropical palms and coconut groves, this 18 hole course is close to all of Nusa Dua’s five star hotels. You get great views over Nusa Dua, and the sparkling Indian Ocean and if you’re lucky, on a clear day, you’ll be able to see all the way to Mt Agung.
New Kuta Golf
Don’t be fooled by the name, New Kuta Golf is located in the south west of Bali in Uluwatu. You could actually just come here to check out the amazing views from the limestone cliffs overlooking Dreamland and Balangan beach, but then you would miss out on one of the finest golf courses in Bali. The best feature of this course, apart from its outlook, is that it caters equally to the pro and the amateur.
