Turtle Love: The Oberoi, Bali
We’re so loving The Oberoi resorts at the moment! Not only have they got special romantic packages available for the summer months for both their Bali and Lombok hotels, but they also have a unique and special experience worth booking a stay there for…turtles! Yep, The Oberoi, Bali is committed to sea turtle protection and conservation in Bali, and in doing so they have their own turtle hatchery and sanctuary, which protects the eggs laid on the shoreline from predators. Once the eggs have been incubated and hatched, the newborn turtles are cared for by the Oberoi staff to make sure they are strong enough to make it to the water. The release of the baby turtles is something you can be part of, and believe us – it is an experience you will never forget! There are clutches due to hatch this July and August, so book your stay now!

Held at the award-winning Potato Head Beach Club, hundreds of music lovers will descend en masse to enjoy the likes of international headliners such as Disclosure and Ta-Ku, as well as cutting-edge artists and local DJs.

Festival fun, part two: Ubud Village Jazz Festival
For audiophiles that like a little less two-stepping, the Ubud Village Jazz Festival invites you to enjoy a small two-day festival on the 12 and 13 August. Comprising of just 20 performances and 100 musicians, the event is low key and completely volunteer-run but provides internationally-acclaimed music that will sooth your soul! The kicker? There will also be delicious food on offer from nearby culinary haunts. Jazz in the jungle: we like the sound of that!
