Bring out the fur baby! A first for the car-sharing service in Asia, uberPET offers pet-friendly transport.
The latest feature from car-sharing app Uber proves to be much more favourable than the introduction of the wait time fee – but it’s really our fur babies who will appreciate it more. While we may have daycare centres and even hotels for pets in Singapore, taking your dog on public transport can be a headache. A step up from Uber delivering puppies to workplaces for a midday snuggle, you can now book a ride with your pet via uberPET.
Yup, Uber has been listening and will be launching the new vehicle option that allows riders to bring their furry friends onboard. According to the stats, more people are adopting pets in their households and as the number grows, there is also a demand for pet-related services – including transport.
Starting Friday, Oct 20, Singapore will be the first city in Asia to have this new service on the Uber app. With uberPET, riders can be assured that their driver is comfortable to have pets on board. All uberX driver-partners on the new initiative have opted into this programme and understand that there will be an animal on board.
What’s the price for bringing out the fur baby? All trips with your pet are also priced the same as uberX, with a wee additional booking fee of $2. As a bonus to celebrate this milestone, the booking fee of $2 will be waived till December 31. Time to plan your next pet outing!
