Over 50 vendors at this double market near River Valley Road, featuring kitchenware, furniture, food, fashion, beauty, art and more!
Two heads are always better than one. And when that chummy ethic is applied by two trailblazing lifestyle brands – one known for its nifty kitchenware, and the other a furniture haven – that come up with the ambitious idea of co-organising a massive market, you get, what we’re mighty sure, is one of the biggest bazaars of the year! Happening on 4 and 5 June, The Market Hop is a novel double whammy being held by APS Lifestyle and DREAM, that’ve both hosted markets in the past, albeit individually. But now, we’re in for some serious retail therapy as these two collaborate for an event featuring over 50 vendors – talk about mega proportions! Here are five reasons why you should get stoked too.
1) The Market Hop spans two huge venues
How huge? We’re talking a combined space of over 80,000 sq ft! The Market Hop happens simultaneously across two market locations at the brands’ respective stores – APS Lifestyle at 9 Muthuraman Chetty Road (near Mohamed Sultan) and DREAM at 456 River Valley Road (near Great World City). As the event name implies, the idea is to hop between both markets that offer different vendors and goods, made easy with free shuttle services running every 15 minutes.
2) You’ll get the best of both brands
Each market offers something fresh that you won’t find on the other side, so make sure you explore both. APS’ market (Market 1) will showcase a live appliances feature with kitchenware from Smeg, Whirlpool, Küche, Vintec and Transtherm.
While DREAM’s market (Market 2) launches its Garage by DREAM concept – a showroom offering affordable designer furniture pieces from past seasons and rare one-offs, from brands like Cassina, Cappellini, Sancal, Matthew Hilton and more. In fact, this sale even goes beyond the Garage; there will also be a pop-up with a DREAM furniture sale up to 70% off, as part of DREAM’s Great Singapore Sale promotion. Yup, essentially, the whole showroom will be on sale! Don’t you just love a good deal?
3) You’ll never be hungry, ever
With their powers combined, APS Lifestyle and DREAM have roped in The Peak Selections: Gourmet & Travel to curate a mouth-watering assortment of f&b vendors, so come with an appetite! We do hope you can stomach Peranakan dishes (Candlenut), Mexican tacos (Vatos), Caribbean cuisine (Sea Salt Caribbean Deli), BBQ pork ribs (Naughty Nuri’s), Hawaiian poké (Aloha Poké), beef brisket (Red Eye Smokehouse), Japanese roast pork (Bazuka Yakibuta), just ot name a few. There will also be pastries and cakes (Ollella, The Fabulous Baker Boy), local treats like kueh (Ji Xiang Confectionary) and craft beer (The Great Beer Experiment) to please your palate.
4) There’ll be bargains all around
It’s not just the foodies who’ll be satisfied. Fashion junkies can spruce up their wardrobe with multi-label boutique Nana & Bird and trendy label Hyphen; and not just for themselves, but for their pooches (Oh Pop Dog) and tots (Gardner And The Gang) too. Art addicts can peruse the works of Matzo Art Gallery, hipsters can pick up obscure magazines (Magpie) and records (Vinylicious Records), and gift-shoppers can snag everything from beauty products (Jeanie Botanicals) and soaps (Rough Beauty), to flowers (Yiliang Ng Floral Atelier) and candles (Hush Candle).
5) The catch: We won’t tell you which market they’re residing in
We couldn’t even if we wanted to! These vendors will be randomly located within the two markets, so you’ll truly have to hop around if you’re looking to satiate that craving of yours (it ain’t that much of a hassle, really). What’s one constant feature, however, is the A Toaster Of A Ride attraction, where you can test-drive a MINI Countryman or MINI Clubman (at either market) to stand a chance to win a SMEG Toaster, courtesy of APS Lifestyle. Pity we can’t win the MINI! Just sayin’.
