From sashimi to tempura, feast on Japanese fare with new bento, teppanyaki, and robatayaki set meals
From its swanky decor to its innovative dishes, we love Fairmont Singapore’s oh-so-fancy Mikuni restaurant for plenty of reasons. Now, with spanking new bento and lunch sets on offer, we have one more.
Crafted by Executive Chef Moon Kyung Soo, the new lunch sets (prices start from $68) feature Mikuni’s signature dishes from the restaurant’s teppanyaki, sushi and robatayaki counters. Choices are abound with options like the Business Bento, which comes with lobster uni yaki, seasonal sashimi, futomaki, and other components like salad, fried tofu, mix vegetables, miso soup, and dessert. There’s also the Tokujou Tempura and Sukiyaki Zen; with main highlights like an assortment of tempura and beef sukiyaki, this is guaranteed to hit the spot.
Craving for teppankyaki instead? There are sets like the Uminosachi, which comes with prawns, scallop, and cod (alongside other items, like chawanmushi). Meat lovers would be pleased with either of the Australian Beef sets – you get to select between premium cuts of tenderloin and sirloin.
The robatayaki lunch sets include the Bone-in Pork Belly set, and the King Prawns set. The former consists of a delicious, melt-in-your-mouth grilled bone-in pork belly atop rice, and comes with an appetiser, chawanmushi, grilled mix vegetables, pickles, miso soup, and dessert, while the latter features a delectable grilled king prawn.
