Live your dream staycation and relax at these hip hotels decorated with stylish rooms, modern amenities, and located near must-see areas in Singapore
We get it: there are loads of boutique hotels and luxury accommodations in Singapore to choose from; some better than others. But how do you up the ante from the standard pool facilities, bespoke drinks at the bar, and spas? To up the swank factor, check into these hotels with modern amenities, futuristic furnishings, fancy interiors, sophisticated colour schemes and Insta-worthy spots and experiences. We’re obsessed with these stylish hotels that are a total must-have on your travel (or staycay) bucket list.
Blast from the past: Warehouse Hotel
New to the game, Warehouse Hotel has been on everyone’s lips for a while now. Formerly an iconic warehouse from 1895, the meticulously restored property boasts a sleek, modern design and rooms with double-high ceilings, peaked roofs and authentic industrial details. Its hipster-friendly fixtures – think hanging light bulbs and vintage wheels, as well as its old-fashioned shutters on the windows – simply screams ‘Insta-worthy’! We couldn’t give this a miss, so we decided to see if it was all worth the hype. Read our review here.
Warehouse Hotel, 320 Havelock Road, Singapore 169628. Prices start from $240.
Eccentric pads: Wanderlust Hotel
As one of the pioneering, cutting-edge boutique hotels in Singapore, Wanderlust’s earned its stripes among alternative experience-seeking travellers. Proudly madcap and unconventional, the hotel boasts four floors with different themes like ‘Industrial Glam’ and ‘Is it just Black and White?’. Our personal fave lies within the top floor; nicknamed Creature Comforts, it houses nine loft rooms with five themes featuring giant typewriters, floor-to-ceiling rockets and surreal treehouses. But for something more comfy and less kitschy, check into the paper-inspired Mono rooms on level three, which has interactive lighting systems for you to ‘paint’ your room.
Wanderlust Hotel, 2 Dickson Road, Singapore 209494, p. 6396 3322. Price starts from $189.
Monochromatic luxe fashion: Naumi Hotel
Despite its central location, Naumi Hotel isn’t your run-of-the-mill business hotel with cookie-cutter layouts and decor. Its five room categories – spread across 73 rooms – are uniquely themed, with plush fittings and luxe designs. Fashion mavens are bound to have a soft spot for the Gabrielle and Camellia rooms – inspired by Coco Chanel, the rooms are decked out in a monochrome colour palette and feature artworks of the designer’s favourite elegantly-shaped flower.
Naumi Hotel, 41 Seah Street, Singapore 188396. Price starts from $350.
Parisian swank factor: hôtel vagabond
For starters, each of the 41 rooms is a super swish, boudoir-chic haven of tranquility. It’s the only hotel in Singapore with a resident artist, and every space is filled with a treat for the eyes. Regular pop up events – like macaron-making and crinoline classes by French designer Mireille Minier – are also held here. And if you’re on an all-girl staycay, the Lady Boss High Tea is complimentary every day – yup, you read that right, tea and scones for free, on the daily. Bonus!
hôtel vagabond, 39 Syed Alwi Rd, Singapore, 207630, p. 6291 6677. Price starts from $261.
Unapologetically boudoir-esque: The Scarlet Singapore
Sensual, intimate and dripping with opulence, The Scarlet Singapore is decorated in arresting hues, precious stones, and lavish decor (we’re talking leopard print, patent leather and python). Swing by the rooftop for refreshing cocktails and nibbles, before descending to your designated love nest with your significant other. Our favourite room by far is the Passion Suite that features a $10,000 bespoke wall and a private outdoor Jacuzzi terrace – great for a blowout staycay.
The Scarlet Hotel, 33 Erskine Road, 069333, p. 6511 3333. Price: from $190.50.
Cutting-edge premises: M Social
Comfort is king at this hip hotel; its chic interiors are the brainchild of renowned designer Philippe Stark. You might never leave your room, as each is a calming enclave of warm colours, and lush textures of plush pashmina throws and soft carpeting. In line with its millennial theme, the hotel offers a good mix of communal spaces for mingling, and high-tech amenities like self check-in kiosks. No need to suffer through the night in your heels for fab cocktails; simply head down to the hotel’s in-house bar, where expert mixologists can easily shake up an artisanal one for you as you chat up other young globe-trotters. Here’s our review of M Social.
M Social, 90 Robertson Quay, Singapore 238259, p. 6206 1888.Price starts from $210.
