Moving to Singapore and looking for a place to stay? Check out the Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Beach Road, located in one of the island’s most vibrant heritage hoods.
Singapore might be a tiny red dot on the world map, but this sunny island’s brimming with quirky neighbourhoods that are bursting with amazing hawker food, cool stuff to do and Instagrammable architecture. One of our favourite places is Kampong Glam, a gorgeous enclave steeped in Malay history and culture, located just outside of the city centre. It’s also a great place to explore for first-timers here, with plenty of unique shopping experiences, cafes to chill at and bars to knock back a few. And whether you’re in town for business or leisure, one great place for an extended stay is at the Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Beach Road, Singapore, which is right at the doorstep of this ethnic melting pot.

Relax in a cosy One Bedroom Deluxe Suite, or live it up at the airy Two Bedroom Premium Suite – whatever your needs are, they’ve got it covered! The suites come equipped with facilities such as a kitchenette, complimentary Internet access and separate living and dining spaces, so you’ll feel right at home in a brand new environment. There are also nifty facilities available, like a rooftop swimming pool, fitness centre, a meeting room, and an entertainment lounge stocked with an X-box, coffee machine, pool table and a mini library.
If your schedule leaves little room for running errands, the place offers daily housekeeping and grocery delivery services, and even help with packing and unpacking. You can also fall back on their 24-hour Personal Assistants service, and that’s what we did! For recommendations on the best things to do around the area, we say skip the typical guidebooks and approach any of their friendly Personal Assistants service staff for suggestions – the Honeycombers HQ snagged some sweet ideas from the team at Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Beach Road, who told us where to go in Arab Street and Beach Road.
Art & Culture

“Take a tour of the iconic Sultan Mosque, a majestic national monument that was built in 1824 for the first sultan of Singapore. If you’d like to learn more about the local Malay community, the Malay Heritage Centre is a treasure trove of historical artefacts and interactive exhibits. Don’t forget to stop by the graffiti-ed alleyways of Haji Lane; the bold murals make fantastic backdrops for your holiday snaps! And you should definitely check out The Projector, a cool independent cinema operating out of a retro theatre at Golden Mile Complex. It’s where you can catch regular screenings of arthouse films and attend niche film festivals or themed parties.”
Shopping
[hc_component id=”116635″]
“Orchard Road may be Singapore’s main shopping belt, but for quirky souvenirs, Supermama at Beach Road stocks stylish Singapore-inspired collectibles, some of which are collaborations with local designers. In the heart of Kampong Glam is Arab Street, a stretch that’s famous for its vibrant textiles – and that is why you have to pick up some gorgeous silks from the fabric shops there! The Golden Mile Complex, or Little Thailand, has one of the biggest clusters of authentic Thai food stalls and grocers here. This is the place to be if you’d like to stock up on Thai snacks not readily available elsewhere.”
Nightlife
“The local bar scene’s bubbling with sleek, prohibition-inspired watering holes, and it’s not hard to find a place that does a mean Old Fashioned. If you’re game for a different experience, try Bar Stories at Haji Lane. Instead of ordering from a menu, you simply tell the bartender the flavours and spirits that you like, and they’ll customise a drink based on your preferences. Down the same stretch is Blu Jaz, a popular jazz bar that has a regular line-up of themed music parties set in a cheery shophouse. Come early, as it’s almost always a full house! Another great place to chill is at The Great Escape, a hidden rooftop bar housed in a parking lot that links to The Projector. The vibe is incredibly laid-back and impossibly hip.”
Dining
[hc_component id=”116232″]
“There are plenty of great brunch spots in Kampong Glam such as Symmetry, an Aussie brunch institution and Maison Ikkoku, a cafe-by-day and cocktail bar-by-night that serves a wholesome all-day breakfast menu on weekends. Another crowd favourite is Artistry, a cosy cafe popular with the breakfast crowd. They also host regular events like poetry readings, live performances and dinner parties for a good cause. For amazing Indonesian nasi padang, Warong Nasi Pariaman is a longstanding, family-run stall famous for its beef rendang. Located in a row of shophouses, Nox-Dine In The Dark is a fine-dining restaurant that immerses you in pitch-dark surrounds, so you’ll be dining on a mystery degustation menu.”
Rooms are priced from $289 per night for a One Bedroom Deluxe Suite via their “Best Rates Offer” package and can be booked here.
