We're just a couple of days away from the premier of Rogue One! If Star Wars fever still has you in its grip (Vader-approved), get it out of your system with our list of themed activities
Just a year ago, Star Wars fans were treated to the return of their beloved franchise. And if you’re as much of a fan as I am, you’re already staring at your screens getting ready for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The new instalment is the first in a series of stand-alone Star Wars films and tells the story of a ragtag team of Rebels tasked to steal the plans to the Death Star. December 15 might seem (a galaxy) far away, but we’re chuffed to announce that ticket sales to begin at midnight today! But hey, if you still need a little bit of Star Wars in your life before then, here are four ways you can get your dose of the world’s greatest space opera!
Join a lightsaber academy
Becoming an actual Jedi Knight is far beyond most of our abilities, but thanks to The Force Academy, you can pick up a glowing, polycarbonate lightsaber and, for a moment, make believe. It’s not all fun and games though! The Combat Saber System is built upon a mix of Asian martial arts styles and incorporates functional, realistic strikes and footwork.
Go toy shopping
Don’t scoff! Pop by any toy store’s Star Wars aisle in Singapore and you’ll find that a good portion of the shoppers aren’t children. Who could blame them? Rogue One has spawned loads of cool toys like the detailed Black Series action figures that’ll be a hit with kids as well as adult fans alike. Lovers of lego can look forward to a slew of new Star Wars sets including the Assault Tank ($33) and the U-Wing Starfighter ($76).
Toys“R”Us, various locations.
