This is no ordinary grill. Barbecue favourites get an upgrade at Pan Pacific Singapore’s Poolside Patio
There’s no denying that some group activities share a universal appeal – after-work drinks, plush staycations and bottomless Champagne brunches are prime examples of what you might get up to over the weekend. Love the thrill of firing up the grill but could do without staying on chef’s duty (and let’s not mention the cleanup)? You won’t want to miss Barbecue Nights at Poolside Patio, a tantalising, al-fresco barbecue series happening at Pan Pacific Singapore on Friday and Saturday evenings. Good times only!
From 13 October to 31 December 2017, Honeycombers readers enjoy 20% savings on their total bill when they quote ‘HONEYCOMBERS’’ while making a reservation (blackout dates apply.)
One might think that in time-honoured tradition, outdoor cooking involves slapping on the requisite shrimp and ribs – and while you’re at it, you might crack open a beer. Purists who are fussy about their singed favourites can heave a sigh of relief, as Pan Pacific Singapore offers a hearty four-course barbecue menu with unlimited mains on hot plates that carnivores will approve of. Tandoori lamb cutlets, soy and mustard steak and Indonesian char-grilled chicken are making an appearance, as are seafood mainstays such as buttered tiger prawns and marinated red snapper fillet. What sets this apart from the usual barbie? It’s always in the sauce. Go ahead and pile on the horseradish cream, chimichurri or Sichuan pepper sauces (we won’t judge.)
The anticipation of the feast may be overwhelming for some. Lucky for you, the good times kick off with a spread of appetisers including tomato gazpacho, Iberico ham and asparagus with burrata, to Alaskan king crab dripping in garlic butter. On a roll? Go ahead; fill your plates with grilled flat bread and a special butternut squash, sage and hazelnut dip. Don’t forget to wash it all down with free-flow Tiger beer or vino – now that’s how we like to do a barbecue.
Barbecue Nights at Poolside Patio by Pan Pacific Singapore are available on Fridays and Saturdays, from 6.30-9.30pm. Prices range from $78 per adult (free-flow booze not included), $98 per adult (including unlimited house wines and beers) and $39 per child (from six to 11 years old.)
