The annual LGBTQ rights rally returns to Hong Lim Park, and it’s currently looking for sponsors and volunteers
As the Fab Four proclaimed it best: all you need is love, and everyone deserves it. Once again, Singapore’s biggest celebration of love, Pink Dot, returns to unequivocally declare that love is universal, and to transform Hong Lim Park into a sea of pink on 1 July, 2017.
Since 2009, the Pink Dot movement has fought for the Freedom to Love, regardless of sexuality or gender identity, and it’s one that’s been exponentially growing in numbers each year. For the uninitiated, attendees are encouraged to wear pink clothes to express their solidarity with the community, and to form a giant pink dot from a bird’s eye view. Curious to find out more? This is what happened during Pink Dot 2016.
If you wish to show your support beyond just attending, there are two ways you can do so. It’s recently launched its Red Dot for Pink Dot fundraising campaign, where it’s rallying companies to become a sponsor for its cause – check out this website to find out how you and your company can chip in. Otherwise, Pink Dot is always looking for volunteers to ensure the smooth operations of its event – it’s a pretty big one at that, so it sure could use all the help!
