These icons are back for one of the biggest concerts in Singapore in 2017, four years after their last sell-out show in Changi
Few bands are capable of summoning 40,000 moshers and metalheads to a vast aviation space in the island’s extreme end of Changi. Heck monstrous locales like that aren’t even practical for most concerts that take place here. But in 2013, what took place wasn’t just your typical gig…
Behemoths of metal since 1981, Metallica gave their legions of Singaporean fans a show to remember when they slayed at their sell-out show three years ago. It took these titans about 20 years to come to Singapore and flabbergast everyone with thrashing drums and screeching guitar solos, so we must admit we’re quite surprised to have ’em back so soon – not that we’re complaining one bit.
Grammy winners and metal legends with 11 albums under their belt, Metallica returns to Singapore on 22 January to play at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, in promotion of their latest trailblazing record, Hardwired… to Self-Destruct, that propelled them straight to #1 on the Billboard 200 charts. And while we’re certain you’ll hear a good chunk of these new, hard-hitting anthems, you’ll definitely be smacked with a rampage of nostalgia with seminal, generation-spanning numbers like “Enter Sandman”, “Nothing Else Matters” and “Master Of Puppets”. So get your Metallica tees ready – ’cos we know you’re a real fan – and start hyping up for what’s already looking to be the most explosive concert of 2017.
