Step aside, Wonder Full! This new attraction along Marina Bay is perfect for romantic dates, families with kids, and visitors to Singapore
Marina Bay Sands has another (water) trick up its sleeves! Lighting up the city skyline from 2 June is Spectra – the new, state-of-the-art light and water show, exhibiting over the waters at the Event Plaza.
Set to an orchestral soundtrack composed by award-winning Singaporean producer, Kenn C, this “world-first” production is a four-act journey that starts off with Singapore’s origin as a multicultural hub, and closes with a sneak peek into a future using projections. Look out for a myriad of innovative water fountain technologies, including pyramids, gyroscopic arcs and straight jets, as well as lava and mist effects as part of the production.
The highlight? Feast your eyes on the bespoke, laminated glass-and-stainless-steel prism that stands at 12 metres tall, bursting into a kaleidoscope of colours that will leave you starry-eyed. And if you’re concerned about how this show is going to affect the environment, fret not. Besides using energy-saving LEC lights, the water effects are generated using filtered and recycled water used in previous performances.
Whether you’re looking for a romantic date idea, a family event suitable for kids, or a must-see activity in the city if you’re visiting Singapore, this theatrical spectacle is one to catch.
Spectra will perform twice every night from Sunday to Thursday at 8pm and 9pm, with an additional show at 10pm on Friday and Saturday. Marina Bay Sands, 10 Bayfront Avenue, 018956.
