The Sili Sponge has taken the beauty world by storm - ladies, here's why you should add this one to your makeup kit ASAP
It all started with the Sili Sponge. Thanks to the work of avid Reddit users, the odd-looking bra-insert-resembling sponge from Hong Kong-based Molly Cosmetics broke the Internet recently – and the hype has yet to die down.
The trending tool is said to trump the trusty Beauty Blender on two fronts – it requires little product as it soaks up absolutely nothing, thus ensuring a lighter and quicker application. It also seriously minimises washing time; all it takes to clean it is a little rubbing with soap and rinsing with warm water. Below is the video that started everything.
But the Sili Sponge’s resemblance to a bra insert and its silicone-filled material meant its inevitable fate: many beauty gurus and influencers began using actual bra inserts as dupes.
We hear they work the same, but we’re (understandably) a little hesitant to use a lingerie accessory on our faces – we’d much rather stick with the original Sili Sponge. Preorders for restocks of the popular product are rapidly going on, but a fab alternative we’ve heard about is the Heme Baby Q Transparent Puff (this one’s even shaped like a teardrop to help you reach those tiny nooks and crannies) available on Shopee from 21 December.
