Get your fine dining fix at these celebrity chef restaurants - featuring the best of Californian and Asian cuisine
Marina Bay Sands has long been host to a plethora of celebrity chef restaurants. While we’ve indulged in a posh feast many a time over dinner, sometimes we can’t help but feel like we deserve a gastronomic feast during the day as well. Lucky for us, both Spago and Sky on 57 have created bespoke lunchtime menus suitable for business meetings, mid-week treats or weekend blowouts. What’s more, if you’re looking for fine dining in Singapore with an awesome view, it doesn’t come much better than 57 floors up at Sands Skypark.
Spago by Wolfgang Puck
Foodies will already be familiar with CUT, Puck’s highly acclaimed first foray into the Singapore restaurant scene and a firm favourite amongst carnivores. So obviously, you can imagine our squeals of delight upon learning that our tiny red dot had also become the Asian home of Puck’s award-winning and Michelin-starred Californian eatery, Spago.
Its lunchtime menu combines Californian flavours with global influences – cue mouth watering…now. Think tuna tartare cones with chilli aioli, grilled Angus beef burger or Maine lobster roll with Old Bay aioli on toasted butter bun. Sit back and relax with a cocktail as you watch the team of chefs in the open kitchens whip up a culinary storm.
This uber cool restaurant also offers two distinct spaces to suit your mood. For something a little more intimate, the 90-seat dining room is ideal for working lunches or a romantic treat. But if a laid-back vibe is more your thing, the casual lounge terrace overlooking the iconic infinity pool is an ideal space for al fresco entertaining. Either way, be sure to make the most of the whopping wine cellar that stocks over 600 bottles of wine and champagne. Yes, we know it’s lunchtime but it would be rude not to indulge. Hic!
Sky on 57
Celebrity chef Justin Quek is bringing a fresh, modern twist to Asian cuisine at Sky on 57. For business lunch-ing guaranteed to impress, the rooftop view and tantalising menu at Sky on 57 is hard to beat. Serving up three courses at only $55++ or four courses at $65++, this is one gastro-feast that’s kind on your wallet as well as your stomach.
Starters include the signature foie gras xiao long bao, alongside other delicious bites such as Iberico pork belly or burrata with Iberico ham and basil coulis. If you’ve opted for the four-course menu, you’ll even have a soup du jour to decide upon. Our pick? We love how decadent the Jerusalem smoked artichoke veloute with smoked bacon and black truffle cream sounds. Yum!
Highlights from the main courses include Chef Dennis’ famous fish curry, braised Welsh lamb, wagyu beef, and Singapore ‘Sakura’ chicken rice. Finally, round off this epic lunch with traditional Italian cannoli, churros with Cointreau-infused chocolate sauce (hell yes!), or a fruit platter if you’re feeling particularly virtuous.
Handy tip alert: We’d advise against scheduling post-lunch meetings, for you probably won’t want to leave once you’re this stuffed!
