Be seduced by the soothing jazz-powered vocals of Alicia Pan as she croons her sultry spins on genres like r&b and jazz at The Powder Room
Booze-riddled parties at pulsating clubs are great for weekend shenanigans, but sometimes a girl just wants a night of utter glamour: slinky dresses, a classy cocktail or two and the smooth, dulcet tones of killer live jazz in the background. Well, we know just the place to go.
Intimate cocktail lounge The Powder Room is hosting The Alicia Affair, a monthly live music series helmed by Alicia Pan launching on 16 July. With the help of her live band, the fabulously fit Yoga Movement founder is set to unleash her weapons of mass seduction (aka her sultry vocals) on an effortless blend of jazz, r&b, nu-soul and hip hop ala neo-soul divas Erykah Badu and Lauryn Hill.
Perched just above the hustle of CBD life, The Powder Room is located on the mezzanine of Gatsbyesque glamarama The Black Swan. Decked out in unabashedly opulent, 1920s Jazz Age décor, Singapore’s first themed cocktail bar oozes seduction and glamour from every crevice.
To complete your experience in this swanky pleasure district, sip on a selection of expertly curated concoctions that marry classic spirits with bold flavours – a perfect accompaniment to Alicia Pan‘s luscious vocals. Can’t decide what to imbibe? Try the B.B. King, made with banana-infused whisky, smoked maple syrup, barbecue bitters and a little sorbet surprise that will have the good times rollin’.
