Catch your favourite teams in the HSBC Singapore Rugby 7s on 15 and 16 April at the National Stadium. And don’t forget about the after-party at Clarke Quay!
Rugby fans in Singapore! This is the moment you’ve been waiting for all year. The 8th tournament of the HSBC World Rugby Seven Series will be held at the Singapore Sports Hub on 15 and 16 April 2017, where teams from 16 countries – including New Zealand, Kenya, South Africa and Japan – will battle it out for the championship title.
Don the colours of your favourite team, and prepare to see them go head-to-head in 45 matches over the Easter weekends. The Rugby Sevens is known for being different from traditional rugby; instead of playing with 15 members per team on a full-size pitch, Rugby Sevens plays with seven in a team. The game is cut short as well, with each half running for a minimum of seven minutes and a maximum of 10. This is so that spectators can enjoy a game that’s more relaxing and less intense.
But if a whole weekend of rugby is still too much for you, you can catch a break at the Music After Sevens, a two-day, family-friendly fiesta filled with entertainment, food and drinks at Clarke Quay. Tickets for the Rugby Sevens matches are available at Sports Hub Tix, while after-parties are absolutely free!
