In this month's edition of Hot New Cafes: Amamoto Café, Autobus, The Dark Gallery, and more
Looking for new cafes in Singapore? We’ve got news for you! New this month to the coffee and brunch scene is a speciality purveyor of dark chocolate, an iconic cheese tart brand, and new branches for two raved-about cafes. Here’s Hot New Cafes for August.
The Dark Gallery
Get past the foreboding name, and you’ll find that The Dark Gallery is a chocolate-lover’s paradise. This new cafe at Millenia Walk specialises in artisanal dark chocolate desserts and beverages, with a special focus on high-quality single origin dark chocolate. Whether it’s chocolate macarons, ice cream, or cake that your heart desires, you’ll find exceptionally good chocolate treats here.

PABLO Cheese Tart Café
The iconic Japanese brands finally makes its way to Singapore with the opening of PABLO Cheese Tart Café at Wisma Atria. The 78-seater cafe will, of course, feature the Signature PABLO Freshly Baked Cheese Tart along with other cheesy favourites like the mini cheese tarts, smoothies, and the PABLO soft-serve ice-cream. Truly a cheese-lover’s dream.
PABLO Cheese Tart Café, #01-02/03, 435 Orchard Road, Wisma Atria, Singapore 238877. p. 6835 9269.
Amamoto Café
Health junkies, skip your usual juice cleanses and smoothie bowls and give Amazake, a Japanese fermented rice drink, a shot. Brought to Singapore for the first time by Amamoto Café, Amazake is touted to have a myriad of health benefits such as promoting digestion and warding off fatigue. Sip on the naturally sweet Original ($4.80), or opt for the spruced-up versions like Matcha ($5) and Cold-Pressed Fruit Drinks with Amazake and unsweetened soy milk ($5.80). If you’re feeling peckish, try the savoury Salad & Quinoa with Chicken marinated with Amazake ($9.80).
Amamoto Café, #B1-39, One Raffles Place, 1 Raffles Place, Singapore 048616, p. 9633 6536.

Up in the wee hours of the morning and desperately need a cuppa after cycling your way to work? This “bespoke cycling cafe” is exactly what you’re looking for. Open from 7am in the morning, the cafe serves up stellar coffee and whole, natural menu items – just what you need for a morning perk-me-up. On the menu, you’ll find wholesome dishes like the rice bowl with pan-seared sea bass, chick peas, broccoli, and guacamole as well as more indulgent treats like the pancake topped with fresh berries, and the AutoBus wagyu beef burger.
The AutoBus, #01-01, 6A Shenton Way, Downtown Gallery, Singapore 068815. Open weekdays 7am-10pm, weekends 7am-3pm.
Patisserie G at Downtown Gallery

PS. Cafe One Fullerton
Adding to PS. Cafe’s lineup of outlets is its new location in One Fullerton, opening in mid-August. Spanning 5000 square feet, it’ll feature panoramic views of the Marina, as well as multiple spaces like an open-air terrace and bar. Expect the design to be kept in PS. Cafe’s signature style – think sleek interiors and plenty of fresh florals or greenery. We’re certain it’ll be our new brunch hangout, but we’re just as excited to pop in for a luxe lunch or a post-work cocktail.
PS. Cafe One Fullerton will open in mid August at Fullerton Road, #02-03B/04 One Fullerton, Singapore 049213.
