In times like these, we learn to love again. Foo Fighters come back to the National Stadium on 26 August
Wipe away your tears from the disappointment that was 2012, when the Foo Fighters’ much-anticipated show at the Padang was cancelled. These rock legends have just confirmed their Southeast Asian tour dates – and will be playing in Singapore on 26 August at the National Stadium, making good on their promise to return since their last show more than 20 years ago.
Foo Fighters, one of America’s greatest alternative rock bands, have been at it since 1995, when frontman and former Nirvana drummer, Dave Grohl, started the band as a solo project to overcome Kurt Cobain’s death. And look at how far they’ve come now – the band has released eight studio albums, won four Grammys, sold over 12 million copies in the US alone, and spawned anthems “Learn To Fly”, “My Hero”, and “Monkey Wrench”. Yup, they’re kind of a big deal.
Other dates in the region include live shows in Seoul and Bangkok on 22 Aug and 24 Aug respectively – which makes us the last show on their Southeast Asian leg (and hopefully the best). According to a Facebook post from the band, tickets for the Singapore show go on sale on 23 May, 10am. Looking at how fast tickets sold out for Ed Sheeran (30 minutes – and no, we’re not comparing Foo Fighters to Ed), we really suggest you camp out for these tickets online or IRL.
We’ve been waiting for an Everlong time, so let’s hope it all goes well.
Foo Fighters, 26 August 2017 at the National Stadium, 1 Stadium Dr, 397629, Tickets are priced at $238, $198, $168, $128 and will be available for sale from 23 May 2017, 10am onwards online or at the Singapore Indoor Stadium Box Office and all SingPost outlets islandwide.
