The otters in Singapore are thriving! Catch this documentary to see how they go about in their everyday life in the rivers of the Lion City
If you didn’t already know, Singapore’s waterways are also home to a couple of famous families – we’re talking about the Singapore otters. Perhaps, quite surprisingly, the otter families have been thriving over the past year and continue to be of great national interest. Keen to know about these riverine creatures? The ArtScience Museum will be screening Otter Town, a film about the otter families in Singapore.
Covering the lives of the Riversiders and the Wildlings (that’s what they’re affectionately called), the documentary follows Singapore’s native otters as they go about on their adventures like handling flash floods and hungry crocs. The Riversiders are city slickers and have made the bustling city their home, while the Wildlings prefer the heartlands and rare patches of wilderness inland. Having premiered in the United States last night, the documentary had limited screening around Asia, but will be screened at the ArtScience Museum on selective dates starting from 18 August.
Admission is free, but come early before all the seats are taken! The film will open the the series of other eco-conscious films in August and September – bring along your significant otter.
