Hydrate and calm your skin with this free 10-min quick spa facial from Elizabeth Arden at Metro Centrepoint
Plagued with the double whammy of sensitive and acne-prone skin, choosing the right beauty products and skincare treatments is akin to conducting a science experiment for me. Even after scrutinising the ingredient list to ensure that the product or treatment is gentle on my skin, I still have to cross my fingers and hope I don’t get a breakout.
What’s more, I don’t moisturise as much as I should, as my skin gets oily the minute I head outdoors, leaving my complexion feeling irritated when temperatures soar. So, in a bid to solve my skin woes, I stopped by the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Instant Hydration Station at Metro Centrepoint to suss out their newest product, the ultra-fine Eight Hour Miracle Hydrating Mist that promises to hydrate your skin for at least eight hours without the heaviness of a cream.
This cosy pop-up boasts a refreshing juice bar, with tropical, berry and apple options made with superfood ingredients found in the Eight Hour Miracle Hydrating Mist – yum! I was then treated to my first spritz of the Eight Hour Miracle Hydrating Mist, which gave me a much-needed soothing sensation for my constantly irritated skin. The beauty therapist, Abby, explained that the mist is made up of an antioxidant-packed superfood blend, including acai and goji berries. Acai is also rich in vitamins A, B, C, and E, which work together to heal damaged skin cells and restore moisture; while the goji berries are full of beta carotene which firms up skin and combats wrinkles. It also contains aloe and apple leaf extract to provide relief to inflamed skin.
Abby then applied the luxurious Flawless Future Ceramide Caplet Serum on my face. Chock-full of Ceramides, a type of lipid found on the top layer of your skin that retains moisture in the epidermis, this lightweight but super rejuvenating serum sank quickly into my skin, making it softer and visibly brightened. Next up was the Flawless Future Powered by Ceramide Eye Gel, which helps reduce the appearance of puffiness and dark circles. Sure enough, my peepers looked more awake almost instantly!
To seal everything in, my skin was given yet another spritz of the Eight Hour Miracle Hydrating Mist. Before spraying it for a final time, Abby measured the hydration level in my skin with a moisture monitor – it was no surprise that, after the facial, it was at a healthy 45%. But just when I thought that the results couldn’t be better, it went up to an unexpected 51% after an additional spritz.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that my face had no trace of irritation or redness after the treatment, which is rare for my sensitive skin. So I had to pick up a bottle of the Eight Hour Miracle Hydrating Mist to add to my skincare routine. Additional points have to be given for the portable size of the bottle – I can easily chuck it into my bag for moisture boosts throughout the day!
