All the concerts, exhibitions, parties, shopping deals and more happening on the F1 weekend
Whether or not you’re into motorsports, September is an exhilarating time to be in Singapore, when the Lion City is all revved up and ready for the 2015 Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix (18 to 20 September). Now in its eighth year, look forward to a weekend filled with high-octane action both on and off the track.
For season F1 goers, be prepared for changes on the Marina Bay Street Circuit between Turns 11 and 13. The right-hand Turn 11 will remain, but will be re-aligned to sit tighter with the left-hand side of Fullerton Road for a slightly slower corner speed as compared to 2014. Left-hand Turn 12 will also be modified slightly so that drivers now enter the left lane of Anderson Bridge, before accelerating towards Turn 13; Turn 13 hairpin will be widened by one metre to enable more overtaking opportunities.
Of course, the star of the show is the thrilling race, as renowned Formula 1 drivers like Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel battle to the finish line. Some of the world’s hottest musical acts, including American Grammy award-winning superstar Pharrell Williams (18 September), pop rock heavyweights Maroon 5 (19 September) and one of the world’s best-loved rock band Bon Jovi (20 September 2015) will be headlining the evening’s massive concert at the Padang.
