Ever wondered what librarians do? In this series of monthly talks, find out what makes our librarians tick as they share highlights of their work from the collections of the National Library.
Join librarian Lee Meiyu as she uncovers more than a hundred years of Singapore’s history as seen through early Chinese textbooks from the National Library’s Singapore and Southeast Asia (SINGSEA) collection.
These textbooks capture changes in Singapore over time, from the socio-lingual, cultural and political beliefs of the Chinese community, to the changing syllabus and education system as well as the history of these textbooks publishers. Don’t miss this opportunity to view the rich array of historical research materials available on the education history of Singapore.
