The 'Surrounding Coffee with Art' exhibition by illy Coffee
Think you know your coffee? Italian coffee brand illy is about to show you more at their first ever solo exhibition in Singapore. Happening at Scotts Square, look forward to a display of art, history, and of course, coffee for a major feast for the senses — guaranteed to pique the interest of any java connoisseur!
Surrounding Coffee with Art
Taking place from 1 to 12 July, the exhibition sheds light on the history of illy and its intriguing art collection. From the first pressurised container to how the illy cup gained its iconic status, you’ll be able to dive deep into illy’s 80-year-long journey of technology and design. The exhibition will also showcase the works of more than 100 artists who’ve used the legendary white coffee cup as a canvas for their work.
FOC hands-on fun
Aside from the visual feast, there’s a bunch of activities happening throughout the month of July that you can partake in to feed your coffee curiosity. Best of all? They’re free of charge! Join the 30-minute coffee tasting session to learn everything you need to know about creating the perfect espresso, or marvel at baristas working their magic using nothing but milk and coffee at the exciting latte art show. Would you rather play barista? Be coached through the various steps of coffee-making by one of the experts in this 30-minute session for up to two pax only.
For more tastings, there’s the Monoarabica tasting (where you’ll get to savour espresso made from beans from coffee nations like Brazil, Ethiopia, and Guatemala), as well as the recipe tasting session, which allows you to sip a range of gourmet coffee creations straight from the specially curated illy Coffee Recipe Book.
