Now serving gin and tonics and French crepes in a gorgeous al fresco setting, The Rabbit Hole’s revamp is fit for chilling with loved ones or partying with friends
Our favourite time of the day is gin o’clock, so excuse us for hyperventilating when we heard The White Rabbit in Dempsey Hill has transformed its whimsical facade into a specialty gin garden bar – the first of its kind. In case you didn’t know, The Rabbit Hole (nice continuation of the Alice in Wonderland theme, dontcha think?), is a magical spot nestled in the lush botanical setting that surrounds the Dempsey area. Serving up bespoke gin & tonics, authentic French crepes and a selection of hand-picked wines, what’s not to like?
Whether you’re a gin aficionado, or just like to dabble every now and then, the succinct menu of 15 bespoke gin & tonics is an enthralling read. Painstakingly curated by group bar mentor, Julian Serna, he has helpfully categorised proceedings into five separate flavour profiles. Whether you prefer your tipple traditional and dry, or floral and elegant, you’ll definitely find something to tickle your tastebuds. These folks sure do take their gin seriously; even the tonic is housemade!
What’s more, you won’t find boring old ice and a slice lurking in your glass, no siree! The pretty setting doubles up as a herb garden, keeping the bar stocked with delights to complement your drink. Expect drinks to arrive pimped with home-grown herbal garnishes alongside the likes of dehydrated orange, chamomile flowers, lemongrass, and even a twist of strawberry.
Hold up, it’s not all about the gin! We can’t think of anything we’d rather line our stomachs with than an authentic French crepe. There are six sweet toppings to choose from including salted caramel, butter and sugar, and the undisputed queen of crepe toppings, Nutella! We. Need. One. Now.
This swish bar also serves a selection of wine, champagne and craft ciders, alongside some rather tasty sounding bar snacks. Perfect for a pre-dinner aperitif, or a post-dinner nightcap. In true Alice in Wonderland style, we think it’s time to take a tumble down the Rabbit Hole…
