Roasted whole turkeys, luscious desserts, a whole lotta bubbly and non-stop merry-making – we dived headfirst into Pan Pacific Orchard, Singapore’s yummy Christmas offerings!
Hold up – is it December already? At the Honeycombers HQ, it’s never too early (or late) for Christmas roasts, log cakes, year-end dinners and even exciting giveaways. While we’re busy showering our readers with an ever-growing array of festive treats, the team snuck out one Friday for a ‘lil mid-day revelry at Pan Pacific Orchard, Singapore’s mouthwatering Christmas luncheon! It goes without saying that we stuffed ourselves silly with juicy turkeys, delectable sweets and plenty of bubbly. Who says you can’t have fun at work?
Available only on 25 December, the Christmas Luncheon Family Feast is packed with traditional yuletide musts by executive chef Andy Oh – a roasted whole turkey served with chestnut stuffing and a gamut of sauces ranging from giblet sauce to cranberry chutney, Portuguese linguica sausages, honey-baked hams, sparkling wine and more. Here’s our favourite part: the meal was presented in an artfully arranged spread stacked in the middle of an intimate roundtable, complete with an adorable hand-crafted gingerbread house decoration that we tried to snag for ourselves! After filling our bellies, we returned to our desks with bags of leftovers (you didn’t think we’d leave a scrumptious meal behind, did you?) and promptly slipped into an inevitable food coma. So, was it worth the extra calories? We rounded up our top highlights and of course, it was a resounding yes!
“I couldn’t get enough of the turkey – the meat was surprisingly succulent. The crunchy chestnut stuffing was a great accompaniment and I’d recommend eating with a generous helping of cranberry chutney.” – Lacey Ewin, Account Director (right)
“The chocolate log cake was to die for. It had an extremely sinful fudge centre and a melt-in-your mouth texture. Simply glorious!” – Chelsia Tan, Creative Services Deputy Editor
“The Portuguese linguica sausage is a must-try! It’s seasoned with paprika and garlic, so it has a nice, smokey flavour. Yum.” – Kenneth Pinlac, Account Manager (left)
“I couldn’t stop piling my plate with macaroni and cheese. The baked potato, coupled with gooey, melted cheese and pasta makes for a comforting treat.” – Daniel Lim, Marketing and Events Coordinator
“If I had to choose, I would say the honey-baked ham’s the highlight for me. The meat was just incredibly tender, with a touch of sweetness.” – Skye Marsden, Stylist (right)
