Champagne, dance music, and plenty of food (think BBQ, seafood, Asian, European and more) at W Singapore’s revamped Sunday brunch; we popped by to party at the hippest hotel on Sentosa!
There are few things we love doing more on a Sunday in Singapore than donning our glad rags and heading out for a spot of brunch. Work may be a mere 18 hours away, but you can’t beat an indulgent feast and a few glasses (who are we kidding… bottles we mean) of Champagne to fight off the Sunday night fear! W Singapore – Sentosa Cove is no stranger to this extravagant and much-loved ritual, but it has recently revamped its brunch menu at The Kitchen Table. Interest piqued, we shimmied along to check it out; we’d heard the free-flow is epic, the food is divine, and the setting is uber-chic. Here’s what we discovered at the all-new Sunday Remix 2.0.
The vibes
W Singapore is, arguably, one of the hippest hotels on the Singapore scene. Think swimming pools overflowing with beautiful people, DJs dropping sick beats throughout brunch, and a super-slick interior that oozes cool; be sure to don your finest threads in order to fit in with the glitterati! As the afternoon wore on, the crowd certainly got merrier, and if you’re in the mood for a proper Sunday shindig, this brunch is where it’s at
The food
Detox and recover from your Saturday night hangover by indulging in some of the freshly squeezed juices from the bar. Packed with fruit and veggies, these vitamin bursts will get you back on track and ready to enjoy the rest of the buffet. There are also tonnes of other healthy food options to feel saintly about – think light salads, sashimi, seafood platters, and freshly grilled lobster (a must try – it was divine!). De-toxing complete, we found ourselves ready to get back on it with the not-so-saintly options too.
With six live cooking stations to explore, each filled with delicious treats from around the world, you’ll have to plan your eating tactically in order to fit everything in. Hit up the egg station for a classic Eggs Ben, or the less-traditional (but equally yummy) fresh cheese waffles. Go Asian with a bowl of steaming hot noodles or chilli crab; get a taste of Europe with platefuls of traditional lasagnes, roasted meats, and cottage pie; or go all out BBQ at the live grill station – we’re talking sizzling steaks, huge marinated king prawns, and plump sausages.
Save some space for desserts! Aside from the obligatory chocolate fountain, there’s a myriad of bite-sized treats to sate your sweet-tooth. We loved the mini chocolate magnums, warm salted chocolate pots, and traditional bread and butter pudding. This new menu definitely gets our thumbs up!
The free-flow
Fizz flows like water at the W, hic! Service is swift and, once filled, don’t expect to see the bottom of your glass for the remainder of the brunch (not that we’re complaining!). Beer aficionados will appreciate the self-help draft beer counter, and party animals will go nuts for the jello shots! For an additional 20 smackers, you can add free-flow house wine and cocktails into the equation. Or for an extra $50, you can score all of the above plus access to the WET pool; it even features a swim-up bar. Hell yes! The latter also gives you access to the beautiful 1,300sq metre swimming pool from 3–7pm. Don’t forget your swimmers!
This is one party you might regret the following morning. Oh well, sleep when you’re dead!
