Got the Monday blues? Treat yourself to dinner and drinks in the CBD at this classy, city hangout.
Your boss is on a warpath; a deal you’ve been working on for months just fell through; and you’ve spilt coffee all over your pristine white shirt – the day just can’t get any better, can it? It’s time to give yourself a break, and we can’t think of a better remedy than top nosh in an environment that provides a change of scenery. One of our favourite spots for dinner and lunch in the CBD, The Black Swan is one chi-chi restaurant along Cecil Street that now features a gorgeous alfresco space, on top of exciting happy hour deals and delicious chophouse classics, all set in stunning Art Deco-inspired surrounds that the Great Gatsby would toast to.
An oasis in the CBD
Feeling cooped up in the office? Swap that work desk for a gentle breeze in your hair at The Black Swan’s brand new alfresco area, with cosy benches and rattan chairs, shiny tables and stylish fairy lights sprawled across an intimate space located on the restaurant’s patio. You’ll be wining under the dense canopy of trees, away from the bustling Raffles Place crowds – great for a time out from work.
Irresistible happy hours
One of the biggest draws at The Black Swan is its attractive food and drink deals. Don’t miss weekday offers like $2 oysters and $9 house pours, house wines and draught beers (5pm to 8pm), and $12 signature cocktails (5pm to 9pm) at their mezzanine cocktail lounge, The Powder Room.
A hearty and unpretentious menu
Take comfort food to a whole new level with chophouse classics featuring the best cuts any meat lover will appreciate. Sourced from top producers and boutique ranches from across the globe, star items like the dry-aged Pure Black Angus prime rib steak and the 1824 flank steak are grilled over a bed of Binchō-tan for a mouthwatering smoky aroma. Other noteworthy dishes include the grilled half Maine lobster, kombu and chilli-flecked bone marrow cubes or channel your inner Escoffier and stack a generous slab of foie gras on the USDA Brandt Choice tenderloin to build your own tournedos rossini. You’ll be unbuttoning your pants after a meal at The Black Swan, that’s for sure!
