Co-organised by party promoters, Blackout and After Dark, this two-day event also features Green Is The New Black, Camp Kilo Charcoal Club, and Selva Foods
When you’ve run out of locales to throw a party – a common #firstworldproblem that plagues a lil’ dot like Singapore – you find another island. Sounds crazy, doesn’t it? Well, clearly not crazy enough for these tag-teaming nightlife promoters.
This dream collab brings together Blackout, the brainchild of party nomad, Zig Zach (if you’re not familiar, he’s thrown some of the illest parties in the most unfathomable of locations); and After Dark, the pet project of Joshua Adjodha who’s been responsible for grooming the Kilo brand into what it is today. And instead of throwing this next shindig at Kilo Lounge or another mysterious warehouse that Zig Zach has dug up, they’re doing a biggie on… wait for it, St. John’s Island. Holy smokes, right?
Just a ferry ride away will be this, not one, but two-day event that promises tunage in pop-up stages around one of Singapore’s most iconic sister islands. This jamboree will start from as early as 12pm on 27 May, and end with a bewitching sunset on 28 May, so you can expect plenty of boogies in between. While the lineup hasn’t been confirmed yet, I’m not too worried one bit about the quality – after all, these promoters have collectively roped in everyone from DJ Tennis and Eric Volta, to Âme and Paul Woolford.
And for other fringe fun on the island? Turns out there’ll be free workshops by Green Is The New Black Asia (conscious living, FTW), acai bowls from Selva Foods, and BBQ goodies from Camp Kilo Charcoal Club.
What’s next for these guys, a party on a plane?
