The Ascott Limited has always been at the forefront of hospitality and luxurious living – and now, the serviced residence company is set to redefine the concept of travel with its latest unveiling, lyf.
Targeted towards millenials, lyf (pronounced as ‘life’) is a ground-breaking, new accommodation concept with a difference. Unlike conventional serviced apartments, it aims to bring global jetsetters and like-minded creatives together in co-living/co-working residences around the world.
For travellers seeking luxurious and comfortable accommodation, lyf offers beautifully designed private apartments in layouts ranging from studios to twin rooms with a shared kitchen. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg: Every lyf property is designed as a dynamic living-slash-social space with a plethora of communal spaces: think co-working areas, business suites, a ‘social kitchen’, Laundromat, and gym for the ultimate co-living experience. The properties will be managed by lyf Guards – millennials who may be residents themselves and will juggle several roles as a community manager, city and food guide, bar keeper, and problem solver all rolled into one.
The best part? Residents at lyf will get to be part of a community through collaborative workshops, networking events, seminars, and other social gatherings.
With the travel market expanding rapidly and millennial travellers spending more than US$200 billion annually, Ascott aims to bring the lyf brand to Australia, France, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and the United Kingdom by 2020.

lyf Launch Event
The Ascott Limited recently unveiled the lyf concept with a launch event on 24 November. At the party, guests and members of the media had the chance to immerse themselves in the full lyf experience with mock setups and a virtual tour of its different living spaces. In addition, they were also treated to live performances by local band 53a, free-flow food and drinks, and exclusive lyf merchandise up for grabs.
