Take a walk down memory lane and immerse yourselves in Little India’s vibrant past with art installations, street art and performances
While we’ve only recently welcomed 2017 and the new beginnings it promises (good riddance, 2016!), it’s always fun to take a walk down memory lane and delve into our little red dot’s diverse heritage. This month, feast your eyes on an artsy exploration of Little India’s past.
ARTWALK Little India 2017, a public art festival started by the folks from LASALLE College of the Arts and Singapore Tourism Board, with the support of the Little India’s Shopkeepers’ and Heritage Association, returns with the theme, Your Path To Remember. Embark on a walking trail through one of Singapore’s most iconic cultural districts, as stories and traditional folktales of the vibrant precinct come alive through vivid wall murals by local artists and art installations. Not to mention, expressive storytelling sessions and exciting performances that’ll leave you breathless.
Culture vultures and history buffs, rejoice! This is a side of Little India you haven’t seen before.
ARTWALK Little India 2017 runs from 12 to 17 January 2017 at various locations within Little India.
