Run by the previous co-founder of Saveur, The Masses ticks all the right boxes for impeccable food, fresh produce and affordable prices
Being the notorious foodies that we are, it’s no surprise that we’re always on the hunt for affordable, yet top-notch food. So when we heard of The Masses (by the same co-founder of pocket-friendly French restaurant, Saveur), we knew we hit jackpot.
Aimed at serving up “contemporary, happy food”, The Masses stays true to its word with quality restaurant fare (made with fresh seasonal produce, no less) at wallet-friendly prices. Don’t be surprised to see familiar Saveur dishes (like the crab & caviar angel hair pasta) on its menu. Dishes to try include the deep-fried camembert dessert, 12-hour braised short ribs and The Egg: a silky egg custard served with spoonfuls of salmon roe and flying fish roe, served with crispy house chips and hazelnut butter. Bonus: Most of the dishes are priced below $20.
One thing to note is to make reservations beforehand. Word has naturally spread about the restaurant’s amazing food, so book in advance – we particularly love the alfresco seats on a chilly night.
The Masses, 85 Beach Road, #01-02, Singapore 189694.
