Cat cafés are nothing new in Singapore, so we’re delighted that a fresh, new cat-related concept has just cropped up. Introducing Lion City Kitty: The Cat Museum, Muses & Mansion, which is meow…sorry, now open.
Like its name suggests, Lion City Kitty: The Cat Museum, Muses & Mansion is an all-in-one destination that’s simply purr-fect for cat lovers everywhere. Unlike typical cat cafés, the space features a museum, cat adoption centre, and kitty playground on three different floors within a quaint shophouse on Purvis Street (apt name!).
On the first level is the Cat Museum, which pays tribute to our four-legged friends with a curated exhibition of photographs, art pieces, and historical stories on cats.
For the highlight of Lion City Kitty, head up the next level. There, guests can cosy up to nine resident felines and hopefully, adopt them as pets. This is a special collaboration with the Cat Welfare Society with the aim to find forever homes for 50 orphan cats by 9 August 2015 (as part of the historic SG50 celebrations).
Finally, the top floor is where nine superstar cats (each with adorable names like Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, and George Clooney) reside. Unfortunately, they aren’t up for adoption but visitors can still play with them to their hearts’ content.
Entrance fee to Lion City Kitty: The Cat Museum, Muses & Mansion is $9, which includes a visit to all three floors with no time limit. Entrance is free for kids below six years old.
Lion City Kitty: The Cat Museum, Muses & Mansion, #02-02, 8 Purvis Street, Singapore 188587, p. 6336 2133, e. [email protected]. Open Fri-Sun 2-9pm.
