De rigeur desserts to tempt your guests
There’s absolutely no denying it: Singaporeans looove their food. So it comes as no surprise that couples spend big bucks on only the best for their wedding day. After all, happy guests equal happy marriage; or is that happy wife, happy life? Never mind. Here are our wedding desserts of the moment, curated by wedding specialist and owner of The Wedding Scoop, Leana Doray.
Cakes
A wedding without a show-stopping multi-tiered cake? Unthinkable! Luckily, there’s no need to compromise on style with gorgeous and unusual cake designs today like the unfrosted “naked” red velvet beauty. And gone are the days of stodgy fruit cakes covered in thick swathes of icing: choose from a mind-boggling array of delightfully (adult) flavours like lychee martini and Bailey’s chocolate crunch.

Cupcakes
This one’s a no-brainer – everyone loves a generously frosted cupcake. Perfect as wedding favours, guests can also try their hand at honing their artistic skills at a frosting bar. Delish bite-size treats with your very own personalised designs? Yum!
Cupcakes by Goobycakes, photos by Smitten Pixels. Price: regular flavours from $33 for a dozen. Fondant art an additional $1 – $8 per piece. Frosting bar from Plain Vanilla Bakery.
Churros and waffles
Piping hot and freshly made treats in the form of churros and waffles? In a word – heaven! Throw in a selection of delicious toppings like chocolate sauce, whipped cream, maple syrup, and sprinkles, and we promise: your guests will be forming a mile-long queue for these babies!
Churros and waffles from Cremeberry. Price: churros station at $220 for two hours and waffle station at $180 for two hours with an additional $50 delivery fee.
Frozen treats
Beat the heat and tuck into delightfully cool treats like colourful popsicles, frozen yoghurt and our personal favourite at the moment: ice-cream cookie sandwiches. This is one childhood snack we’re happy to hold on to!
Popsicles from Popaganda. Price: $3 – $4 per stick. Ice cream cookie sandwiches from Ice Cream Cookie Co. Price: $5 – $6.90 each.
Macaron towers and croquembouche
Wedding cake not quite your thing? Wow your guests and stop them in their tracks with these veritable towers of sugary goodness. We predict it’s going to be hard to resist sneaking a piece from these show-stoppers for a quick bite!
