Break-the-fast

From bacon to bagels, nightclubs to pony clubs, here is a grand selection of sunny-side up breakfast offerings you need to try.

In the city

If you live downtown head to Boomarang and tuck into the huge Bondi breakfast and wash down with a freshly squeezed juice. If you are headed Orchard way try KPO for their all-day brunch or Black Coffee Dessert Bar for a quick fill. If you are looking for a slow substantial breakfast with an interesting twist, head to Wild Honey, where the creative all day menu of Yemen (Malawach), Mexican (Burrito) and Tunisian (Stew) breakfasts will keep the taste buds entertained.

In the village

Croissant fans need to try the lovely French bistro Choupinette on Bukit Timah. If you are looking for a more relaxed vibe, head to Cafe Hacienda and tuck into your Eggs Benedict on the balcony.

Colonial classics

For aspect and that oh so tropical feel, PS Cafe Harding can’t be beat. Although we have also fallen in love with the romantic country feel of the Riders Lodge at the Saddle Club. And if you just can’t be bothered to book ahead for that balcony seat at Riders, wander over to Mimolette, who impress us with their service and free milkshakes for the kids.

Eggs man

If you’re looking for serious eggalicious fares, head over to Hatched, where you can have them boiled, scrambled, fried or baked. Portions are small, but the quality ingredients will satisfy.

Nothing like ocean views

There is something so calming about breakfast on the water, and if you don’t own a boat (yet), then Prive Bakery Cafe is the next best thing. Soak up the views while you sip away on your coffee.

Caffeine fix

Sometimes all you need is the coffee-fix. Our all time favourites are Kith Cafe and Papa Palheta, it’s the personality, service and style you just can’t beat. Kith does a mean scramble egg toastie, but don’t come hungry to Papa Palheta.
