The landmark exhibition will present 132 original photographs and eight films by the 20th-century artist René Magritte that were rediscovered after having lain unnoticed in shoeboxes and private collections for fifty years after Magritte’s death in 1967.
This the first showcase of Magritte’s photographic work in Asia, and each photograph and film reel gives a rare glimpse into the mind and life of one of the 20th Century’s most prominent artists, while revealing the role photography and film played in Magritte’s painting.
