We’ve found a luxe treehouse abode that lets you live in the jungle like rainforest royalty!
Away from the hustle and bustle of South Bali, high up above the palm trees and in the heart of Bali’s mountainous rainforest, we’ve found one of the island’s best kept secrets – a gorgeous jungle abode that’s hugged by raw nature and blessed with the luxe amenities of a five-star villa – Champagne on ice included! Honeys, let us introduce you to The Harmony Tree House at Alassari Plantation
Picture this. Imagine a villa that’s accessible only by a 50-metre suspension bridge, where you can wake up to the sounds of waterfalls, or watch squirrels from your bedside as they scamper from tree-to-tree. A villa that’s totally open to the jungle out yonder (not confined by walls or windows) yet wholly liveable, luxurious, and so enchanting you’ll feel like you’re in a rainforest fairytale…

You might not find any marble flooring here, nor any ritzy trinkets that can be seen anywhere in the world. But you will find a totally magical and five-star retreat that’s Balinese to its core, from the artisanal bamboo structure (featuring a soaring roof of 32,000 hand-adzed bamboo shingles) to the lush valley views of Mount Batukaru that stands 1500 metres above your fluffy pillow.
Yup, when we stumbled upon The Harmony Tree House at Alassari Plantation, we could hardly believe our eyes. How often do you find a two-storey bamboo abode in the heart of a mountainous jungle? One that’s glamorously kitted out with a flat-screen smart TV, an espresso machine, top-of-the-range King Coil mattresses, an ensuite bathroom made of fine sandstone, and of course, a Champagne bucket for when it’s time to toast to your rainforest residence?!

All of this, and that’s before we even begin on the majestic grounds of Alassari Plantation itself. Set over acres of lush jungle, this expansive eco resort is run by the forest’s own Tarzan and Jane, Australian hosts Craig and Valarie Glenister. Adding to the heart and soul of the retreat, Craig and Valarie will often be sighted stretching and meditating beside jungle streams, bathing under cool waterfalls or supping on an espresso martini (or two) at the on-site restaurant, which use premium Plantation coffee, no less.
The resort is in fact made up of five standalone jungle villas, a gatehouse and pool house (not to mention the restaurant and the yoga & spa bale) but it’s The Harmony Tree House that gets our green thumbs up if you’re looking for jungle luxury that both you and your Instagram feed will go head over hiking boots for. This is rainforest glamping at its very best. Now, how about that bottle of bubbly?
