Surf, sun-salutation, surf, sunshine, swim, surf or sunset… Surfers, yogis and surfing widows are all happy and equal at Uluwatu Surf Villas.
Good vibes! It just sums up all we love about staying at Uluwatu Surf Villas – from it’s million-dollar position on the edge of ocean, the epic surf-check vantage point on your front lawn, cliff-front private pools, and potentially the island’s most amazing – yet private – sunset viewing lounge area.
Oh yeah, and that’s not forgetting the three yoga classes a day in a beautiful teak yoga pavilion just steps from your villa also looking over the ocean. Namaste, indeed.
So yes, Uluwatu Surf Villas have got the lot if you love surfing, yoga, the ocean, or just a million dollar view in Bali. The biggest dilemma you’ll face here, other than which of Ulu’s world-famous breaks to surf on your doorstep, is whether to sacrifice the view long enough for a beautiful yoga class just behind you.
The complex can sleep up to 32 as a single group, with three, three bedroom cliff-front villas – all with private pool & entertaining area that overlooks, yes you guessed it, the view. One four bedroom villa is just located behind these, and there’s now two new accommodation options.
One is a two bedroom, two bathroom traditional Javanese teak “Limasan” situated behind the yoga studio in a forested valley. The second is a reclaimed hardwood, loft apartment, located directly below the Morning Light Yoga Studio – secluded with forest with ocean and sunset views, and perfect for one or two people. All bedrooms have their own bathroom, and are decked out comfortably with more than a few surfer touches.
Unsurprisingly, the giant, private grassed area (stretching forever it seems – probably because it can host 500 of your closest) in overlooking the stunning ocean is fast-becoming a wedding wow venue as well as prime location for special events – think yoga retreats, chilled sunset-music sessions, private events, even an upcoming session with surfing legend Gerry Lopez.
Though the villas themselves are around ten years old, you’re not the only one if hearing about them more recently since their new management took over and the yoga pavilion was installed. The whole place just screams ‘share me’, and we’re only sharing it ourselves ‘cos the secret is already out.
But it’s not just the surfing-mecca, or sunset-loving, outlook that makes Uluwatu Surf Villas spesh in our eyes – it’s just a gorgeous, natural, and chilled out vibe in any direction. Beyond any actual surfing or yoga, being in the moment, relaxing and taking it all is all you’ll actually want to do.
We guarantee you’ll literally feel as if you and your chosen crew, are the only (lucky) ones on top of the world. Fully sick.
The Loft prices start at $125 USD per night, Bungalow room prices start from $225 USD per night (though each bedroom can be rented separately from $75 USD), Villa prices start from $390 USD per night. Prices are all year round and don’t include taxes or additional charges. For full details, see here.
Yoga classes are IDR 100,000 for a 1.5 hour session, and run daily at 730am, 1030am and 530pm.
