Here's what's hot in Bali right now - our fave new openings, hot destinations and must-do Bali bucketlist ideas
It’s time again to share a new edit of the fabulous things to do in Bali right now – the things our Honeycombers editors are loving the most. You see, before the ink has even dried on our Hot New Tables round ups or top picks for Bali’s best beach clubs, new oooh-aaah places pop up faster than the mojitos go down. And with so much to see and do across all of Bali’s neighbourhoods, you’ll certainly want to take note and linger a little longer at these so-hot-right-now recommendations.
Uluwatu’s sky-high new destination
Hot new sunning destination alert! Sure, Bali has plenty of fabulous beach clubs lining its glittering shorelines (and we can’t get enough of them, naturally). But Bali’s newest sunshine destination isn’t just another name to add to that ever-growing list. Oh no siree. OMNIA Dayclub Bali, Uluwatu’s newest sky-high destination, is in a class all of its own – a new breed of island decadence that’s shining an international light on Bali’s luxury lifestyle scene. You’re bound to love the all-day, celeb-like lounging, but you’ll no doubt love the million-dollar views, jaw-dropping designs and world-class wining and dining options even more!
OMNIA Dayclub Bali, Jl Belimbing Sari, Banjar Tambiyak Desa, Uluwatu, p. +62 361 8482 150, e. [email protected]. Open daily 11am – 7pm.
Bali’s (ever-expanding) brunch scene
Forget Sunday Funday, Bali is all about endless Champagne and delicious feasts – lazing your weekends away with the island’s best food, drinks, views, pools and first-class service, for hours on end! Yup, Bali’s brunch scene is a hedonistic haven of mouth-watering Champagne buffets and free-flow brunches, from the decadent food spreads in Nusa Dua to bottomless drinks in Seminyak. Have your people call their people, and do this fine Sunday session. It’s a thing!

Nusa Lembongan’s only speakeasy
As if we needed more reason to hop on over to Nusa Lembongan, this secret whiskey & gin bar is home to one of our fave tipples… Tucked away under The Deck café & bar, The Howff hangs over rugged rock and turquoise ocean with open air views of Mount Agung. Serving drams of whiskey and gin globes of the finest calibre, this unique dungeon bar is the first in its class on Nusa Lembongan. Try The Countess of Ross – a cocktail that’s as zesty as the woman warrior it’s named after.

The 3 new features at our fave sunning spot
We’re already huge fans of Sundays Beach Club for more reasons than we have time for, but now they’ve given us three more excuses to sun, sip and swim at this famous beachfront spot – just in case we needed more encouragement (as if!). From the front-row sunbeds that can now be reserved (with VIP entry included) to the brand new summer menu and post-sunset specials beneath the stars – we’re officially smitten with Sundays. Now for the hard part: will it be a sand-in-your-toes bean bag with a Lamb Shish, or a squishy sunbed with a Cooked Chilled Seafood Basket? First. World. Problems. Right. Here.

Our fave beach fest is coming to Bali!
You could say that Air Festival Indonesia is like the Burning Man of Asia. Not only is this free-spirited fest famous for its musical roster of international eargasms, it’s also where you’ll find giant floating structures illuminated by lanterns and candy-coloured sunsets, sand-in-your-toes dance floors dotted with flower garlands and painted faces, and even a sacred fire burning throughout the night… Well, this year the boho beach party is coming to Bali, at no other than La Brisa!
Sound Healing at Pyramids of Chi
We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again. Sound Healing is the new black. This age-old treatment takes traditional healing to a new level, not to mention when it takes place in two built-to-scale pyramids in the heart of Ubud. With flowering frangipani all around and the gentle ripples of garden ponds fringing the pyramid walls, these celestial structures look right at home in their tranquil, island setting. Never heard of the Great Pyramids of Bali? Now you have.

This luxe Seminyak stay in central Seminyak
A luxe villa address to know about: Villa Issi in Seminyak. Like any luxury lover, we are total suckers for an ultra modern, minimalistic villa. Bright open spaces, geometric aesthetics, a rolling lawn and an ever-enticing infinity pool for a tropical cool down? It doesn’t get much better than that. Unless of course, the villa is situated in the heart of Seminyak, just minutes from all of our fave beach clubs, cocktail bars, world-famous restos and designer boutiques… Well, that’s exactly what we got at Villa Issi: a super stylish, east-meets-west space with a whole lotta luxury – all in a walk-to-everything Seminyak location.
