Curb those Japenese food cravings with delicious Ramen bowls in Petitenget, get your coffee fix at the new brew bar in Seminyak, and try coconut vegan ice cream after surfing waves in Uluwatu. Here are our picks of the best new culinary haunts that have recently opened their doors on the island.
Titik Temu
Titik Temu have based their ethos on experiencing coffee the old fashion way but in a modern setting… Back in time the localised coffee stalls [Warung Kopi] would be made up of long tables and would be where workers would sit and chat over coffee. This café has created a similar setting comprised of lots of wooden benches and strategically placed tables meaning you can pick a spot, sit down and enjoy good coffee and great food as you catch up with friends. We also love the huge garden, perfect for your pets to have a run around in!
Titik Temu, Jalan Kayu Cendana no. 1, Badung, p.+62 (0)856 8091 717
Ayodya Beach Bar
Part of the Ayodya Resort, the new beach bar is the perfect place for unwinding with a cocktail or three! Relax into a brightly coloured bean bag and feel the white sand between your toes as you listen to the lapping waves… idyllic!
Ayodya Beach Bar, Jalan Pantai Mengiat PO Box 46, Nusa Dua, p.+62 (0)361 771 102.
Mad Ronin
This trendy new hotspot in Petitenget is the place for tasty Japanese food and craft beer! Pick and choose the flavour of your Ramen bowl, including meat, veg or seafood options and a host of toppings, then wash it down with a refreshing ale, beer or cocktail. We love the whole vibe of the haunt, from the funky art and colourful skateboards adorning the walls to the young, friendly staff. Mad Ronin is your new spot for sociable dining! Not only that, but upstairs there will be a new speak-easy bar called 40 Thieves Club which will be your retreat for after-dinner cocktails. Keep an eye out for details on the bar’s opening date!
Mad Ronin, Jalan Petitenget No.7, Kerobokan Kelod, p. +62 (0)878 6226 7657.
Sea Vu Play
Another newly opening gem in Petitenget is Sea Vu Play – a restaurant slash bar slash club, perfect for nights out with friends. The theme is tropical and nautical, so flip flops and boardie’s are welcome. Sit on the park style table and benches or hire out your own private booth and chow down on pizza, fish and chips, mac n cheese and more classics. Stick around for when the sun goes down as it won’t be long before the party gets started! Ahoy matey!
Sea Vu Play, Jalan Petitenget.
Coco & Poke
The name says it all really – yep, this new haunt located in popular hotspot Single Fin in Uluwatu serves poke bowls and cocowhip! If you haven’t tried a poke bowl yet, you’re missing out. This dish [containing cubed fish over sushi rice] is becoming somewhat of a food craze in Bali [probably because it’s so damn delicious and healthy]. And CocoWhip – the world’s first vegan and bio-fermented coconut soft serve – is the perfect sweet treat post poke bowl. Opening in the next few weeks!
Coco & Poke, Single Fin, Pantai Suluban, Jl. Labuan Sait, Uluwatu.
Manisan
This new restaurant is located within a restored Javanese joglo suspended over a productive rice field in Ubud – perfectly complimenting its authentic Indonesian menu. This food venue is all about celebrating the spirit and diversity of Indonesia, so immerse yourself into the beauty of Bali at Manisan.
Manisan, Jalan Hanoman, Ubud, p.+62 (0)361 846 8933
Expat. Roasters
Expat. Roasters is your new go-to in Seminyak for excellent coffee [and sweet treats!]. We love everything about this new brew bar – from its urban cool vibes, the funky tropical prints the staff are rocking, and, of course, the delicious coffee. The team behind the concept work closely with the local farmers and producers to source the finest quality products, which compliment their nomadic collection of coffee beans from around the world – so you know you are getting a good cup of coffee!

Square One Bali
This little restaurant is our new fave spot in Sanur! Their food is mouth wateringly good, including their homemade chunky granola breakfast, creamy pumpkin soup or filling burger lunch, and mango smoothie with chia seeds puddings! A must-try if you are in the area [open for breakfast, brunch and lunch].
Square One Bali, Jalan Danau Tamblingan 51, Sanur
Mudra
Mudra is a little gem in Ubud well worth checking out, if not solely for their vegetarian curry! Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner [and a mean cup of freshly roasted coffee], they experiment with food and turn classics into mouth-wateringly good dishes. We are loving their organic ice cream too. And if the food doesn’t get you through the door, their gorgeous new mural will!
