Get fit in Bali by trying something a bit different! Work that booty and those abs at these challenging but fun fitness classes, including pole dancing near Seminyak, Crossfit in Canggu and pilates in Ubud.
Whether you want to keep fit on your Bali holiday or you are a local who is looking for a way to get into shape, we all know that doing exercise is important to help live happy and healthy lives, [plus we all want to look like we’ve just walked off the set of Baywatch when we’re strutting down Echo Beach]. We also know that running on a treadmill 3 times a week can be a little dull, so we have rounded up our fave fitness classes in Bali that are a lil’ bit different. Shake up your fitness routine, and shake that booty at these 7 awesome work-out classes:
Crossfit, Crossfit, Crossfit! This high-intensity functional fitness is taking over the world, and it’s not just the men who love it. Women everywhere are getting into Crossfit, [which must mean it isn’t as scary as it looks]. This intense fitness is challenging but fun, and definitely beats running on a treadmill for an hour. Don’t be put off if you lift 5kg or you don’t understand what ‘WOD’ means [it’s workout of the day by the way] – everyone is welcome into the Crossfit community!

Get ready to shake it like a poleroid picture! Capoeira is a dance form incorporating martial arts, dance, acrobatics and music. Originating in Brazil, where it was developed by slaves who used it to disguise the fact that they were practising fight moves, this is definitely one to get bikini ready! Plus you could learn a thing or two for your Friday night’s out in Seminyak!

Take a whole lot of cardio and add in a couple of boxing punches, and what do you get? Boxfit! Be prepared to get that heart pumping as you improve your agility, coordination, and strength in sessions that combine boxing technique with a killer cardio workout. Not for the faint hearted!

What we love about a spinning class is the energy from the instructor, the pumping music and the amount of sweat that drips off our skin – you know you’ve burnt a fair few calories after getting on the bike! So when we heard about the freestyle spinning classes at night we got excited! Mix it up and feel the burn… in darkness.

Pilates in the jungle! Head to the beautiful Movement Matters studio in Ubud [or their other branch in Seminyak] and try the new GYROTONIC movement. Your body will be taken through a range of sequences performed on hand-crafted pieces of equipment, in conjunction with breath work, to create balance, efficiency, strength and flexibility. This is a fab way to tone up!

Want to become strong, sexy and confident? Try dancing around a pole in 6 inch stilettos! Not only does it challenge your body, it also allows your inhibitions to melt away. Grab the girls for a work out you won’t forget!
