The tourism gates keep opening for Bali fans around the world as it’s announced that thirty additional, lucky countries can visit Indonesia visa-free from next month.
The winning countries include most of Europe and the UK, China, Japan, America, Russia, South Africa, Canada, New Zealand and some nations in the Middle East and Africa. One of Bali’s neighbours and biggest tourist fans Australia, is sadly not feeling the love.
The Indonesian government has made the move to boost tourist numbers, hoping that an estimated 10million foreign tourists will spend at least $1billion this year. That’s a lot of Bali’s gorgeously crafted shoes and handbags, sunset cocktails and spa treatments.

To see if you or your international besties qualify, the full list of countries consists of: China, Japan, South Korea, United States, Canada, New Zealand, Mexico, Russia, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait and South Africa. Citizens from the ten member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations as well as Hong Kong, Macau, Ecuador, Chile and Peru were already exempted from the visa requirement.
